ADVANCED ENGINEERING MEASUREMENT AND INFORMATION SYSTEMS OF FUTURE VEHICLE WIRING SYSTEMS - MULTIPLEX
Due to the possibilities of modern electronics the conventional vehicle wiring system can be completely redesigned in a new serial structure. The Robert Bosch company has developed CAN (Controller Area Network) for serial data communication. This protocol is already used in control units with high speed data transmission and is being put forward worldwide as a proposed standard by the International Standardization Organisation (ISO). For slower Multiplex systems a special CAN unit (basicCAN) has been developed with considerably simpler hardware structure but with an identical protocol. A comparison between both systems shows that serial structures can be used in future with more and more advantages. (A) For the covering abstract of the conference see IRRD 850768.
