CURRENT TENDENCIES IN THE EVOLUTION OF TYRE TECHNIQUES
DIRECTRICES ACTUALES EN LA EVALUCION DE LA TECNICA DEL NEUMATICS
The characteristics of the tyre which affect the pavement are: the pressure of the tyre on the surfacing, flexibility deflection capacity when the tyre is moving, and tangential stresses inside the tyre/road contact elliptical curve. A theoretical study is conducted of the tyre/road interaction in relation to tyre characteristics, tyre pressure, etc. Radial-ply tyres are recommended as giving increasing loading capacity, longer service time, higher speed, lesser resistance to rolling and better comfort and safety. The number of the covering abstract of the symposium is IRRD Abstract No. 100881. /TRRL/
