SPECIFICATION FOR SAMPLING AND EXAMINATION OF BITUMINOUS MIXTURES FOR ROADS AND OTHER PAVED AREAS. PART 1. SAMPLING

This part of the standard specifies methods of sampling all types of coated bituminous materials except slurry seal, used in road works and other paved areas. The purpose of sampling is defined together with the minimum mass of bulk sample for different nominal size materials. Various methods of obtaining bulk samples are described, and appendices cover safety, sampling rate and choice of sampling method. For part 2 of the standard, see IRRD abstract no. 212248. /TRRL/
