AN ALTERNATIVE INERT GAS SYSTEM
The system is based on a foam bed "Foamator" scrubber which was developed by Maritime Protection A/S of Oslo. The system has been retrofitted to numerous tankers in the 70,000 to 300,000 DWT class and in many instances the retrofit was begun in drydock and completed en route. The system also provides considerable savings in power and water requirements. The company also runs - research and training base using a full sized inert gas system for training offices and crew.
