SUNDERLAND - THE ILLUMINATING FACTS
The growth of public lighting in the expanding urban area of Sunderland is reviewed. The history of public lighting in the area is summarised, and brief details are given of the lighting of the town centre redevelopment area, Sunderland airport, and Mill Hill - Doxford Park (a new township on the outskirts of the borough), together with present design standards. In addition, subway lighting, servicing and maintenance of traffic signs and street lighting, and administration methods are summarised. /TRRL/
