THE DETECTION AND IDENTIFICATION OF VEHICLES USING SEISMIC TECHNIQUES
Some results of an investigation into the seismic detection of vehicles are outlined, and the design of a device for detecting the passage of and counting vehicles is described in detail. The problems of automatic vehicle identification are discussed, and it is shown how this is complicated by the considerable degradation which seismic signals often experience during their propagation through the ground.
