STRAIN FACTORS AND MOMENT FACTORS FOR SINGLY AND DOUBLY REINFORCED BEAMS UNDER REPEATED LOADING
An investigation was made of the response of simply supported singly and doubly reinforced beams to arbitrary repeated loading. A numerical method using load deflection deflection relationship for computing strain factors at various stages of loading is proposed. Moment factor equations are developed involving the parameters like modular ratio, percentage reinforcement, ratio of compression steel area to tension steel area, strain factor and stress ratio. The theoretical and experimental comparison indicates that the theoretical equations involving strain factors may give a rough indication of the behavior of reinforced concrete beams under repeated loading. /Author/
