SHEAR STRENGTH OF REINFORCED CONCRETE BEAMS WITH BARS TERMINATED IN TENSION ZONES
Results of an analytical and experimental investigation of the shear strength of reinforced concrete beams with bars cut off in tension zones are presented. A proposed equation, if used in conjunction with the AC1 shear formula, accurately predicts the ultimate strength for this type of beam. The results of 15 beams tested by the authors and 45 beams tested by other investigators were analyzed to support the validity of the proposed equation. /Author/
