A PREVIEW OF CLOSE-RANGE ENGINEERING PHOTOGRAMMETRY
There is little doubt that photogrammetry will be applied to an increasing extent in the solution of measurement problems in engineering. Already there are indications that the number and variety of applications is growing. An attempt has been made to review recently published examples, the majority of which have been reported from the United Kingdom. They include the recording and measurement of dam displacements, unstable geological strucutes, snow cover, soil, structural and hydraulic models, constructional problems, and box girder load tests. The paper concludes by indicating some of the problems which beset these applications of closerange photogrammetry. Their solution would help to further the wider acceptance of these techniques. /Author/
