THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD APPLIED TO THE CHOICE OF THE SIZE OF RAIL VEHICLES
METHODE DER FINITEN ELEMENTE BEI DER AUSLEGUNG VON SCHIENENFAHRZEUGEN
The finite element method opens new possibilities for determining in the planning stages, the stresses and strains which will be borne by the supporting elements of rail vehicles. Examples are given to show how this method has already been helpful in determining the size of rail vehicles whilst it has also provided information on other aspects and how effective it is.
