THE REALITY OF MAKING TRIP REDUCTION WORK
Interest in employer trip reduction programs has grown as many regions of the country are challenged to meet air quality and congestion management mandates. Regulation XV of California's South Coast Air Quality Management District is the nation's most encompassing effort to induce employees to abandon drive-alone commuting. The experience with Regulation XV over the past four years has yielded valuable lessons on the effectiveness and practicality of mandating employer involvement in commute trip reduction programs.
