NONCONTACT MEASUREMENT OF SPEED BY MEANS OF CORRELATION METHODS
BERUEHRUNGSLOSE GESCHWINDIGKEITSMESSUNG MITTELS KORRELATIONSVERFAHREN
An instrument for the measuremnt of speed and covered distance by railroad trains. It is independent of the wheels. Two optical detectors sequentially scan the surface of the rails. The resulting electric signals are displaced by the traveling time between the two scanning spots. By means of a correlation technique and a control circuit a value is obtained which corresponds to the traveling time.
