AN "INTEGRAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT REGISTRATION SYSTEM" FOR TRAFFIC SAFETY RESEARCH
EEN "INTEGRAAL VERKEERSONGEVALLENREGISTRATIESYSTEEM" VOOR VERKEERSVEILIGHEIDSONDERZOEK
A preliminary report on an integral traffic accident recording system is presented. The efficiency of such a system can be summarized in the following points: duplicate recordings can be avoided; the hitherto existing recording systems can be better used by more users; by coupling to sub-systems the basis registration remains limited and a great flexibility will be guaranteed; and by including police and insurance-data a unique collection of data arises which describes the lack of traffic safety better than all previous systems. The aim of this report is to start a discussion on the pros and cons of such a system. /TRRL/
