MOORING SYSTEMS FOR OFFSHORE OPERATIONS
The main problems in design analysis or feasibility studies of mooring systems are discussed. Common catenary formulae and correction to these are shown. Three mooring systems are used for illustration purposes; one with wire lines, one with chain lines and one with composite line (chain and wire). All computations are performed by two EDP-programs - ANKAN for static and pseudo-dynamic analysis of the complete system and LINDYN for dynamic analysis of one line.
