COMPLEX AUTOMATED RAILROAD TRANSPORT CONTROL SYSTEM

KOMPLEKSNAIA AVTOMATIZIROVANNAIA SISTEMA UPRAVLENIIA ZHELEZNODOROZHNYM TRANSPORTOM

The twenty-sixth Congress of the U.S.S.R. Communist Party paid great attention to the improvement of planning and control on the basis of widely applied mathematical methods, the use of electronic computational and organization technology, and communication. This report discusses the experience of the application of computers on railroads, covering schemata for normalized freight flow directions, monthly plans for transport, monthly technical normalization of operations, plan for the formation of freight trains, traction calculations, creation of the train schedule, a system of operational planning for maintenance work, the automation of cash-ticket operations and reservations on trains, and basic work on the creation of statistical and book-keeping accounts. The report goes on to cover the tasks and plans for the creation of a complex automated system of rail transport control (ASUZHT), presenting detailed block schemata and covering functional subsystems, and information base, and the technical complex. In final phase the ASUZHT is envisaged to automate tracing of its rolling stock and regulation of maintenance work with the use of automated data processing, including the creation of an information bank and the creation and optimization of a dynamic model of the transportation process.
