DETERMINATION OF DYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF A SOIL BASED ON A CYCLIC PRESSUREMETER TEST . PRESSUREMETERS. PROCEEDINGS OF THE THIRD INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM, ORGANISED BY THE BRITISH GEOTECHNICAL SOCIETY, OXFORD UNIVERSITY, APRIL 2-6, 1990
This paper presents a method of in-situ determination of the parameters needed in the equivalent viscoelastic soil modelling currently used in Soil Dynamics. It provides a way to identify the in-situ values of eta(max) and gamma(r) parameters needed in the Hardin and Drnevich hyperbolic model. The viscoelastic interpretation of a series of low amplitude cyclic expansion tests with a hollow cylinder cell were undertaken to check the validity of the method. (TRRL)
