A PILOT STUDY OF A METHOD FOR TESTING THE PUBLIC IMAGE OF FORMS OF TRANSPORT
After a brief review of the use of psychological tests of attitude in transport, this report outlines a method which employs schematic human faces. Its use in a pilot study to test the image of forms of transport held by residents in two housing estates is then described. The results of this study are not entirely unambiguous, but suggest that the bus user may be less highly regarded than the car user. It is recommended that the test itself should be refined before wider use is made of it. (A) /TRRL/
