IMPROVEMENTS TO THE STREET TRAM SYSTEM IN CAIRO. IN: URBAN TRANSPORT IN DEVELOPING COUNTRIES: LESSONS IN INNOVATION
While many cities in the Western World are considering the introduction of trams or light rail systems for a second time, a number of countries in the third world are still wondering whether to scrap their own systems for the first time. In Egypt, major street tram systems operate in Both Cairo and Alexandria. This paper looks at the improvemnts needed to maintain the level of service acceptable.
