HUMAN FACTORS IN MIS DESIGN AND OPERATION
Factors that must be considered in the implementation of Management Information Systems (MIS) are discussed. Even though the MIS software is highly user oriented, users with no knowledge of data processing will require a hands-on training program. The terminals used, the IBM-2740 or the IBM 1050, caused no difficulty on the part of the user, but pin feed carriages had to be installed. In nearly every user area, hard copy reports were required. The MIS software does not provide a direct interface for any program language such as Cobol. Data security provided by MIS software is good. Most current users of MIS have found it satisfactory.
