COMMUTER PARKING IN MILAN
The growth of park and ride facilities in Milan is tied in with the development of the metropolitan railway. The first facilities were immediately after the opening of line 1 (1964) on sites not originally planned for this purpose. Subsequently, in accordance with the "Transport Plan of the Milan Commune" introduced in 1979, parking facilities were systematically provided whenever traffic and parking problems arose. The paper studies the present situation.
