GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE IES REGARDING ENERGY CONSERVATION
The IES has always been concerned with energy use and economics in lighting, but has recently exerted a more intensive effort involving specific policy programs in order to be responsive to users of lighting, the general public, and the national interest. This article discusses some of these programs, emphasizing the need for a transition period in which to get new technology into operation.
