DRAG AND FLOW PATTERNS FOR THE FLOW OF A DRAG-REDUCING POLYMER SOLUTION ABOUT SPHERES
A brief review of external flows of drag reducing polymer solutions is followed by a discussion of results of drag and flow-visualization experiments on spheres in the range 50 Re and 450 Re in 50 ppm polyacrylamide solution. The results are discussed in the light of drag-reduction theories.
