WHAT DO MOTOR-VEHICLE COLLISIONS REALLY COST YOUR COMPANY?
The article describes how Johnson & Johnson, a family of 200 companies worldwide, with 83,000 employees and operating 12,000 vehicles, took major steps to identify collision costs and to create driver training programs. It shows how the identification of the actual costs of vehicle collisions has helped many companies accept new traffic safety programs. A first effort must be to get management involved. The hidden costs of traffic accidents are pointed out. Highlights of the company's driver safety program are described. The National Safety Council's consulting services audited the safety program.
