INFLUENCE OF THE CONCRETE CONDITIONS OF CONTACT BETWEEN WHEEL AND RAIL ON THE RUNNING OF VEHICLES OVER RAILWAY LINES
EINFLUSS KONKRETER RAD-SCHIENE BERUHRUNGSVERHALTNISSE AUF DAS LAUFVERHALTEN VON SCHIENENFAHRZEUGEN
The authors speak of the effects of a number of different wheel, and rail profiles on the stability of rolling stock, and also of the influence on such stability of the wheel/rail friction coefficient. From the studies carried out, it transpires that a wheel profile close to the shapes created by natural wear between wheel and rail is more advantageous than conical profiles as regards maintenance and running stability.
