PROJECT MANAGEMENT: KEYS TO SUCCESS
Unsuccessful construction projects can be traced to lack of one or more control parameters. This article presents 13 key factors that lead to success of construction projects: setting goals and commitment to them; well written contracts; successful project team and staffing; effective communication; preconstruction planning sessions; schedule control; cost control; negotiation of subcontracts; monthly progress reports; meetings; job closeout procedures; and quality control. Each of these areas is discussed.
