PROGRESS REPORT ON THE INVESTIGATIONS INTO ACCELERATED HARDENING OF CONCRETE CARRIED OUT AT THE CERIB
ETAT DES RECHERCHES EFFECTUEES AU CERIB DANS LE DOMAINE DE L'ACCELERATION DU DURCISSEMENT DU BETON
The author recalls that the most important of the problems arising during the accelerated hardening of concrete is that of the steam-curing stage, which can be divided into four phases: initial curing, rise in temperature, retention of maximum temperature, cooling. The cerib gives precise recommendations for each of these phases. In order to facilitate the calculation of cycle duration, maturity curves for different binders were defined and a new method was developed to calculate the maturity factor. Mention is made of the micro wave technique (2450 hz) used at the cerib to heat concrete throughout. /TRRL
