ECMT URGES MEMBERS TO MAKE UP DRIVE II FUNDING SHORTFALL
The European Conference of Ministers of Transport (ECMT) council urged member governments to make up a shortfall in DRIVE II research funding or face the loss of the RTI/IVHS market to Japanese and U.S. competition. At the same meeting, Renault President Raymond Levy urged ECMT ministers to support ERTICO, a new non-profit pan-European partnership to coordinate public and private initiatives in advanced transport telematics.
