CLEARANCE IMPROVEMENTS FOR U.S. RAIL TUNNEL
The Montgomery Tunnel in Virginia is among the largest clearance improvement projects undertaken by Norfolk Southern Corporation to connect the east coast port of Norfolk, Virginia to its existing double-stack network in the South and the Midwest. The work involves removing the concrete roof and installing new supports in unusual ground conditions, all under live track.
