RESPONSE TO TRANSPORT AND ENVIRONMENT CANADA CONSULTATIONS ON EMISSION REDUCTION OPPORTUNITIES
The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) represents over 500 municipalities across the country. This document represents their response to Transport and Environment Canada's call for submissions on reductions of emissions from motor vehicles, fuels, and industrial equipment. The FCM identifies the need to base controls on engine size, not vehicle size; on miles travelled or hours of operation; the amount of particulate matter released; and the amount of time engine idling is allowed.
