VEGETABLE OILS AS AUTOMOTIVE FUEL. EXPERIMENTAL REPORT
PFLANZENOELE ALS KRAFTSTOFF. UNTERSUCHUNGSBERICHT
The operating behavior of a 3-cylinder diesel engine with direct injection was investigated with vegetable oil as fuel in the entire range of characteristic curves. The obtained performance, efficiency, and pollutant emission properties of the engine correspond largely to those results that were obtained earlier with the same engine operated with ordinary diesel fuel. As remarkable exception, distinctly more favourable smoke and particulate emission using nut oil is to be mentioned, which should be connected aspecially with the notable oxygen content of the vegetable o.l.
