SHIFT WORK AND OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY
SYSTEM PRACY OKRESOWEJ (TURNUSOWEJ) A BEZPIECZENSTWO PRACY
An analytical study of the effects of shift work on safety is followed by an explanation of the principles governing the duration of work for each job. The author describes the physiological and mental repercussions of such a system on the human body. He discusses the perturbations caused in the whole system and more particularly the senses of sight and hearing. He mentions several precaustions to take so that the person retains the psycho-physiological capacity to adapt himself to shift work. He stresses the importance of the factor of fatigue, its causes and symptoms. He also emphasizes the importance of the type of lighting and its intensity for the well-being and productivity of the worker.
