ROAD SAFETY AUDITS
This Standard sets out the procedures required to implement road safety audits. It describes the stages in the design and construction of a new scheme by which audits shall have been undertaken together with an outline of the factors to be considered. It sets out the monitoring requirements by which the effectiveness of the auditing process can be judged. The Standard is mandatory for all trunk road schemes including motorways in the Road Construction Programme and all schemes in each Regional Scheme Programme. Departmental Advice Note HA 42/90 (see IRRD 838857) should be read in conjunction with this Standard. (TRRL)
