AN OBJECT-ORIENTED SIMULATION SYSTEM FOR CONSTRUCTION PROCESS PLANNING. IN: PREPARING FOR CONSTRUCTION IN THE 21ST CENTURY, PROCEEDINGS OF CONSTRUCTION CONGRESS '91, SPONSORED BY THE AMERICAN SOCIETY OF CIVIL ENGINEERS IN COOPERATION WITH THE AMERICAN INSTITUTE OF MINING ENGINEERS AND THE AMERICAN ARBITRATION ASSOCIATION, CAMBRIDGE, MASSACHUSETTS, APRIL 13-16, 1991
This paper presents an object-oriented simulation system designed to integrate specific construction knowledge into construction process planning. Using the object-oriented representation, this integrated system enhances as well as simplifies the simulation approach to planning construction processes. This paper reviews the modeling concepts of the system, demonstrates one modeling example, and discusses future system extensions.
