SPEED MEASUREMENT INDEPENDENT OF THE CORRELATION METHOD
BERUEHRUNGSLOSE GESCHWINDIGKEITSMESSUNG MITTELS KORRELATIONSVERFAHREN
The article describes a measuring device, independent of the wheel, for determination of speeds and distances covered in railway operation. Two optical detectors successively scan the rail surface. The signals, electrically transformed, are displaced in relation to each other over the distance between the two observation points. By means of a correlation procedure and a regulating circuit it is possible to obtain a relative value of the above-mentioned journey duration.
