DEVELOPMENT OF AN AUTOMATED DESIGN SYSTEM BASED ON DESIGN RULES
A key point in applying artificial intelligence in the design field is the question of how to connect design knowledge data and shape data. The system effectively links both types of data using a design rule function. Design rules consist of typical patterns containing essential data and knowledge needed for design. By using the knowledge frames corresponding to the desired design rules, designers themselves can efficiently create particular design knowledge databases in various design fields. The system therefore greatly increases design work efficiency for production facilities such as stamping dies.
