CALCULATION OF RUBBER ELASTIC STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS
DIE BERECHNUNG GUMMIELASTISCHER KONSTRUKTIONSELEMENTE
Rubber spring elements are calculated according to a linear one-dimensional deformation law, taking into account the deviations between calculated and actual deformation by a number of correction factors. This article describes an extended system of equations which permits the computation of the deformation characteristics of rubber elements with greatly varying dimensions, without any correction factors being required. The method of calculation with separate representation of the Poisson's ratio yields the result that rubber is by no means to be regarded as incompressible.
