THE CONSEQUENCES OF AN ACCIDENT . FOR ALL SAFETY; CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE IMPROVEMENT OF TRAFFIC SAFETY

DE GEVOLGEN

Modern technology and the current state of medical science are sufficiently advanced to improve both the detection of and warning about traffic accidents, and medical assistance to traffic victims. However the splitting up of emergency services into many different groups, each with conflicting interests and economic goals, makes coordination rather difficult. National government should play a more active role in the provision of an integrated emergency service. Much unnecessary sorrow is caused by deaths or disabilities which arise due to delays in emergency services. The economic costs are also very high. (TRRL)
