BREAKING NEW GROUND

Communities across the country are faced with meeting development, transportation and land use challenges on very restrictive budgets. As the creative and effective use of availble land becomes more urgent, private and public partnerships have increased. The new Richmond Expressway Parking Facility in Richmond, Virginia provides an innovative design solution to this age old problem. The Richmond Metro Authority developed a parking structure that met the challenges of an L-shaped site, combining below grade parking, conventional above grade parking, and air rights that spanned the Authority's expressway, among others.
