BUSES, AUTOMOBILES AND SKYWAYS COMPLEMENT EACH OTHER IN MINNEAPOLIS WITH NEW BUS TERMINALS/PARKING GARAGES

The article describes Minneapolis's plan for the development of its downtown in 1969 called Metro '85. The plan envisioned a compact core surrounded by peripheral parking ramps strategically located on major downtown arterials, providing convenient and efficient ingress and egress from the freeway system. This plan has been updated several times since 1969. The initial concept has developed as planned with a downtown core complimented by a transportation system which assures mobility of the public, including bus and auto users who work, shop, and live in the downtown.
