ASEA'S PROGRAMMABLE LOGIC CONTROLLER PROMATIC 700
A large variety of control systems based on relay technology are in use today. In recent years, electronic solid-state systems have been adopted in growing numbers in areas traditionally associated with relay systems. Examples of these are: operating systems for thermal and nuclear power plants; automatic starting/stopping systems for gas and steam turbines; conveyor control systems. This article describes one type of programmable logic controller.
