NEW TRAILERSHIP SERVICE LINKING CANADA AND U.S. ANNOUNCED BY SEA AIRWAYS
Plans for a new U.S.-Canada trailership service serving the Port of Saint John and the ports of Gloucester City (N.J.) and Jacksonville (Fla.) have been disclosed by Sea Airways, Inc., Clifton, N.J. The trailership will be able to transport 386 trailers or containers with wheels of the conventional 40-foot type, plus 100 or more automobiles. The service will feature a "guaranteed freight cargo space program". Sailings to and from Saint John, New Brunswick, and New Jersey are expected to take approximately 20 hours, and from Jacksonville to New Jersey about 30 hours. Approximately six to nine hours will be required for loading and unloading time in each port.
