WEAVING AREAS: DESIGN AND ANALYSIS

This report presents new procedures for analyzing and designing weaving sections by the use of both analytic and homographic solutions. The new procedures were developed, after a careful review was made of the techniques given in the Highway Capacity Manual, on the basis of extensive field work and analysis of data on traffic performance. The report also contains information derived from a survey of current practices and other insights acquired in the course of the research.
