TRAFFIC LANES RESERVED FOR BUSES

VIAS EXCLUSIVAS PARA BUSES

A study is presented of the congestion in the centre of the town of Bogota and of the resulting number of accidents. The author suggests a system of traffic segregation as a solution to the problem. This could take the form of traffic lanes exclusively reserved for buses, or roads, avenues or motorways exclusively used by buses. The implementation of such systems would be justified, and examples are given of towns already successfully operating a traffic segregation system. /TRRL/
