SAFETY GLASS AND ADMINISTRATIVE REQUIREMENTS
VITRAGES DE SECURITE ET EXIGENCES ADMINISTRATIVES
The study of specifications appended to legislative texts in the USA and various western European cortries led to the identification of the main factors which are considered as safety criteria for silicate safety glass. These factors are: visibility (optical properties), reduction of danger, strength (mechanical strength and resistance to external agents). The tests used to verify these factors are listed, and those selected by administrative bodies are presented in tabulated form. Mention is made of test methods used and of some of the values which differ widely from one country to the other. /TRRL/
