DEVELOPMENT OF STUDIES ON NOISE AND VIBRATIONS IN RAILROAD TRANSPORTATION AND THEIR RESULTS
The report is a survey of studies on the adverse effect of noise and vibration in railroad cars. Further studies started in 1948, used EEG and EKG to determine the function of analyzers, thresholds of acoustic sensitivity and vestibular chronaxy and effects on the cardiovascular system; model vibratory platform was constructed. Characteristics of noise and vibration were divided into 3 groups according to noise and 2 according to vibratory parameters; these were determined for the various types of passenger coaches.
