TRANSPORT STATISTICS REPORT. TRAFFIC SPEEDS IN CENTRAL LONDON 1990
This report contains the results of the eight survey of traffic speeds in central London (the area within 2 miles of Waterloo railway station), which was conducted between June and July 1990. Average traffic speeds are estimated in this report using the floating car' technique. Tables and some charts are presented on: road lengths covered; average traffic speeds; summary of traffic speeds in London for 1968 to 1990; and cumulative speed distribution. Average speeds of 10.2 mph in the morning peak period, 10.5 mph in the daytime off peak and 10.3 mph in the evening peak period are recorded. (TRRL)
