SUBMISSION TO THE BLENNERHASSETT COMMITTEE ON DRINKING AND DRIVING
This report by a group of doctors, scientistis and lawyers deals with the law concerning drinking and driving, suggesting that it be simplified and improved and be extended to include drug-taking. It is advised that very reliable and sophisticated breath-analysing equipment be installed in police stations and that a police surgeon should be at hand to perform clinical examinations when necessary. It is further advised that the existing legislation should be replaced by a simplified act enveloping both drink and drugs. The full proposals of the academy are summarised. /TRRL/
