If present trends in traffic development are to be continued in future without restraint, then the results will be unacceptable socially. One of the future solutions could be a fully automatic traffic system. More attention should be paid to the indirect aspects, such as environmental pollution, fatalities, etc. Research is needed into the willingness of the individual to accept collective measures. A future transport system with electronic control is outlined. /TRRL/
