AN OPTICAL INSTRUMENT WHICH MAKES THE HIDDEN VISIBLE
EIN OPTISCHES GERAET, DAS VERBORGENES SICHTBAR MACHT
An optical instrument called an "endoscope" is described, which was shown at the "automechanica 1972", and which is intended for engine diagnosis and for examining holes in car bodies. The endoscope is particularly suitable for vehicle repair workshops. At the tip of the instrument, directly before an adjustable prism, there is a 12v/2w lamp, the intensity of which can be altered by means of a transformer. Because of the short distance between the prism and the light source, the endoscope can be introduced deep into the cylinder area of the engine. As the prism is adjustable 75 degrees backwards and 120 degrees forwards, the cylinder space, base of the pistons, cylinder walls, and the inlet and outlet valves can be checked to determine their condition. /TRRL/
