THE 1990S AND BEYOND: CRITICAL CHOICES FOR THE WASHINGTON METROPOLITAN REGION. PROCEEDINGS FROM A REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON GROWTH AND TRANSPORTATION, NOVEMBER 15, 1989, WASHINGTON, D.C.
This report presents the proceedings from a regional conference on growth and transportation, sponsored by the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and the Transportation Planning Board on November 15, 1989. The conference brought together over 160 elected officials, staff from federal, state, and local governments, and business and community leaders to discuss key issues raised by burgeoning growth and increasing pressures on the region's transportation system. Three breakout groups on financing growth and transportation, policies and techniques for balancing growth and transportation, and strengthening interjurisdictional cooperation discussed issues and developed recommendations pertaining to each of these topics.
